I sat in briefly with Occupy Monterey yesterday after eating gelato with my friend Kate. We walked with her bike through a well tended garden on the front lawn of Monterey's City Hall to the meeting. On a clear evening, on front steps of the clean white city hall building, I see educated people working with the city to show support for community members in vulnerable positions. The goal is to bring attention to a trend of "Privatized profit and socialized risk". The discussion is polite, everyone is using waving fingers up to show approval and fingers down for dissent.
